I didn't really need to come out per say. My family has always been cray open, my parents have gay friends, etc.
I was hanging out with someone my mother considered "less than a desirable influence" who is also gay. So, she cornered me in the kitchen and said very firmly "are you sleeping with her?!" I said "No." she said "oh, good, but you are gay, right?" Me: "Yes" & we moved on with our lives.
That year she demanded to go to Pride with me & has went every year since.
