As a way to enable some kind of notifications, use this basic guide to change your bookmark settings.
Any time you start a thread or quote somebody else within a thread, that thread automatically is added into your bookmarks.
Following this guide will mean that you can receive either a personal message or email whenever somebody posts in your bookmarked threads.
1. From the main page, you want to go to your profile.
2. On your profile, you go to 'Bookmarks' locaed at the top of your profile page.
3. Depending on whether or not your already have threads bookmarked, if not, skip this step. If you do, your page will look like this and you will need to select 'manage bookmarks'.
4. If you do not have threads bookmarked already, then you will not have any bookmarks here but you will still have the sbility to select notifications. Click the drop down box and choose either personal messages or emails.
