SO. when i was 16 i came out to my mum just before Toronto pride. I had been on google images doing what i do and so on and looking at random things and i found a picture of someones "coming out cake". I thought it was such a great way to ease the tension of coming out to my parents. i had already been out to my friends for forever but not my parents. So i was like, this is such a cool thing! BUT the problem was my mum doesnt eat sugar. So i improvised and sent her an email with that picture of the cake that someone else had used to come out. She got it the next morning and came to me and was like " ur gay?" and i was still asleep so i said "holla!" and flashed her a peace sign and went back to sleep. And that is how i came out to my mum.
