I never write these things, sorry if I'm awkward! If you didn't guess from my username, my name's Nadja. My age is 19 years. I come from a Eastern European country called Belarus but I've lived in Russia for a long time. I stay in Moscow to study a science degree. When this is completed, my dream is to move abroad, partially because I cannot be myself here. Hmm... I am a very shy girl and I never know what to say! My hobbies include reading books (most genres are okay, if it is meaningful), writing (when I have inspiration) and learning languages. I know four languages and am learning a new one now, though I think English is my favorite I used to very active with human rights movements but not too much any more due to various reasons. Now my activism is mostly reblogging on tumblr (which still counts!) I'm not out yet so forgive me for not linking any websites I'm on. I do use a couple of Russian-language LGBT+ sites but I still feel unable to express myself fully on them, so I'm excited to begin posting on here to see if the cultural difference is liberating! Thank you for reading and please don't be afraid to speak with me if you ever want to

Hey Nadja! Belarus huh? I had a friend who was born in Estonia, and she would always rant and rave about how nice it was! Probably very different then the states! I'm also kind of closeted myself considering most of my family is very anti-gay, so I understand! Feel free to be as open as you want here! Hope we get to know one another! Ren

Welcome Nadja! It's okay to be in the closet (I am too, to the most part), especially when there's a special situation like the one in your country! What languages do you know / are you learning? (:

Ren It's nice to meet you, Ren! It's unfortunate but I'm a little happy to know other people who are in the closet. It gets lonely being like this. Anyway, yes, generic Eastern Europe is nice, a lot less diverse and stable than the USA but the nature and culture is to be appreciated. But I really want to go to America~ I hope to get to know you, too!

(: Thank you! It's good to know other people in the closet. I like the term "special situation", I think I might use it! I know fluently Russian, Belarusian, Ukrainian and English (... I hope!) and I am learning Chinese. What about you? Or do you have other hobbies?

My mom knows and for the most part supports me, but she has her limits regardless. No one else really knows xD; Oooooh, I don't know. The U.S. Is having a crap ton of financial problems. I just lost my previous job because the entire chain went bankrupt. A lot of stores have been closing their doors. Right now I wouldn't consider the U.S. "stable" by any means. But I like it here for the most part, so I tolerate the flaws xD appreciate the nature and Culture cuz the U.S. Is quite different! A great experience for all though! I haven't even experienced all of the U.S., each state is so diverse! If we keep talking I guarantee we will get to know one another ^^

Do you have friends that know in real life? Or anyone else to support you? Hm, I have an idyllic view of the USA like everyone else around here, despite world crises. It'd be nice to be somewhere with slightly different problems at least. I try to keep up with US politics and think even the flaws are fascinating (and so scary yet funny, especially the Republican party... no offense meant). Which states have you been to? It's strange how some places there are completely different yet Russia is bigger but less different.

All of my friends and even some of my colleagues at work now. I am out to my younger brother as well, who just was like "Well, love is love." I came out to my Mom 1,5 years ago ... and all she had to say was: "Well, I wanted something better for you .. and don't think I'll help you telling Dad, you know exactly what he'll think of THIS." ... nowadays she just pretends this conversation never happened. I am not out to my Dad ... for various reasons. I know his first reaction won't be positive. And I want to give him the chance to have some space when I DO tell him. But for that to work, I'll have to live on my own. Now your questions: I speak German, English and a little bit of French And my hobbies are reading, listening to Music and recording stuff for my Youtube-Channel

I have my two best friends, Caitlin and Cloe. Cloe has supported me since day 1. We will hit our two years if being friends this August. Caitlin is my absolute best friend, and she's also the girl I'm in love with. She knows I'm in love with her, and she's okay with it, simply because we both want each other to be happy. Even if her happiness isn't with me, I want the best for her. Haha, everyone has that ideal view of the States. I like hearing how other people interpret it, since it's nice to see people actually respect the country. I am not republican, so don't even worry about it xD I have been to Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Colorado, Missouri, Texas, Arkansas, Montana, Illinois, Hawaii, New York, and New Jersey. I love Washington the most, especially where I'm at, on the border of Oregon. My favorite city, however, is Portland, Oregon! Beautiful place, very diverse, and one of the top ten Gay Rights Capitols of the country!

Hi Nadja. You aren't alone in Eastern Europe, have hope. I understand how tough living in Russia can be in this situation. Big hug and best wishes.
