Sochi - Winter Olympics

I am not watching them, for quite obvious reasons: I just don't want to indirectly support a land, that oppresses people like you and me. Though from what I see on tumblr, there's much to miss out on - seems like all the countries try to be the one to passive-aggressively show most support.

I'm not watching because I don't usually watch TV .
But even if Russia is not really a great place to live right now, I wouldn't boycott the OG. it's firstable about sports, fairplay and link between states. I think that firms and countries making too many advertising and boycotting just now that LGBT community is publicly "forbidden" while they don't usually do that, is just hypocritical and a way to have good publicity. Don't misunderstand me, I think it's great to defend our rights and everything but it's just too excessive to be real thoughts
Don't forget that LGBT/allies athletes went to the OG to protest against this laws, and they probably will make a change, well I hope so.
Anyway, what I like the most, is that I understand everything since it's in french

Usually, I don´t watch the Winter Olympics but at the moment I have to stay at home due to a herniated disc in my lower back. So I have lots of time on my hands. At first, I thought about by boycotting by not watching but then I had to tell myself that this is about the athletes and their effort and energy which should be supported and not forgotten. Also, I have to say it´s quite fun to see how many people try to squeeze in lgbtq references on camera somehow. Like the guy with the rainbow coloured ear muffs at the snowboard halfpipe qualifications yesterday.
I mosty watch the snowboard championships.
